Scuba DivingDiving Kenya - Map

On the south-east coast of Africa, scuba diving off the coast of Kenya is just about perfect. Centred around beautiful Diani Beach in Mombasa, all different types of dives can be taken; wreck dives, reef dives, drift dives and some great night dives.

All the major dive sites are less than 30 minutes from the shore giving full diving days, whichever sites you visit.

Highlights include...

Chale Island
Located in Chale Marine Reserve, lots of Stingrays and sometimes white tip sharks. A must for all divers in Kenya!

MV Funguo
The MV Funguo originally sank in 2002 just off Kilindini Harbor. Salvaged by a couple of local dive shops, the vessel was then sunk to create an artificial reef just off Diani Beach.

HMS Hildasay
Old British warship which sank in 1945 and is home to numerous rare fish, a worthwhile dive to see something a little different.

Kinondo Reef
Large schools of Barracuda, Snappers, Trigger fish and the always stunning Pelagic fish.

Galu Reef
Nice corals and another good spot to see rare fish; sea horses, frog fish, leaf fish and ghost moray eels.

Papa Mshilingi
Dive here between October - March and you'll get to see large numbers of the awesome Whaleshark!

Shimo La Samaki
If you're into cave diving then this is the site for you. Large numbers of fish around the caves and canyons, especially the beautiful glassfish.

Kongo
It's Turtle Time! Nice relaxing dive.
